Far from the usual tourist trails, you’ll be welcomed into a village homestead where hospitality and tradition go hand in hand. From learning age-old cooking techniques to trying your hand at basket weaving or farming, the experience reveals how culture, food, and family are woven together in daily life.


The homestay is more than a visit—it’s a genuine exchange. You’ll share stories with your hosts, discover traditional dances, and sit down to a freshly prepared local meal, all while gaining insight into Uganda’s diverse heritage. Every activity is community-led, ensuring your time here directly supports families and preserves cultural knowledge for future generations.

What is included?

  1. Transportation: Round-trip transfers from the central meeting point, airport, or your hotel to all tour sites.

  2. Expert Guides: Knowledgeable, English-speaking (or multilingual) guides providing insights into wildlife, landscapes, and local culture.

  3. Park Entry Fees & Permits: All required entrance fees to national parks, reserves, or conservation areas, and any trekking permits (e.g., gorilla or chimp permits) if included.

  4. Activities: Guided game drives, nature walks/bush walks, primate tracking, village or community visits, waterfall hikes, and cultural experiences if included.

  5. Safety Equipment: Where applicable, items like walking sticks, or life jackets for boat rides.

  6. Accommodation: Lodging in safari lodges, camps, or hotels as specified in the itinerary.

  7. Meals: Breakfasts, lunches, and dinners as per itinerary (e.g., “Full-board basis” or “Half-board”).

  8. Refreshments: Bottled drinking water and sometimes light snacks during activities.

  9. Information Materials: Information about the destinations, wildlife, and conservation efforts.

  10. Emergency Support: 24/7 assistance during the tour.

Exclusions

  1. Flights: International or domestic flights to/from Uganda (or your tour’s starting country).

  2. Visa Fees: Costs for visas or entry permits into the country.

  3. Travel Insurance: Participants must purchase their own comprehensive insurance covering health, trip cancellations, and activities.

  4. Additional Accommodation: Pre- or post-tour hotel nights outside the itinerary.

  5. Meals Not Specified: Any meals not included in the itinerary (e.g., lunches on free days).

  6. Personal Expenses: Souvenirs, phone calls, laundry, alcoholic beverages, etc.

  7. Gratuities: Tips for guides, drivers, porters, or lodge staff.

  • Safety First: Always follow your guide’s instructions, especially near wildlife, rivers,      or waterfalls; avoid wandering alone in the bush.

  • Health Precautions: Consult a travel clinic for recommended vaccines (e.g., yellow fever) and malaria prophylaxis; carry insect repellent.

  • Luggage Restrictions: Some tours have limits on luggage size/weight, especially those using small safari vehicles or domestic flights.

  • Child Policy: Minimum age requirements may apply for activities like gorilla tracking or strenuous hikes.

  • Responsible Tourism: Respect local customs, wildlife, and environments; avoid single-use plastics and support community enterprises where possible.

Cancellation policy

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.

  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.

  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.

  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
