This 7-day adventure takes you from the Big 5 animals of Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth National Parks to intimate encounters with chimpanzees in Kibale Forest and the unforgettable mountain gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Start in Murchison Falls, where game drives and boat cruises reveal elephants, lions, hippos, giraffes, and the powerful falls themselves. Then move into the mystical forest of Kibale to track playful chimpanzees and walk among ancient trees. The journey continues to Queen Elizabeth National Park for tree-climbing lions and scenic crater lakes, before ending in the highland rainforests of Bwindi for a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experience.

Tour Itinerary

  • Day 1 – Transfer to Murchison Falls & Scenic Stop

    Depart early from Kampala or Entebbe and head north toward Murchison Falls National Park, stopping at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary en route for a guided rhino tracking walk—completing your Big 5 list early! Continue through rural Uganda, arriving at your lodge inside or near the park for dinner and overnight.


  • Day 2 – Game Drive & Nile Boat Cruise

    Start the day with a sunrise game drive, exploring the northern plains for elephants, giraffes, lions, and buffaloes. After breakfast, relax before heading out for a boat cruise to the base of Murchison Falls, where the Nile churns with hippos, crocs, and birdlife. Option to hike to the Top of the Falls for epic views.


  • Day 3 – Transfer to Kibale Forest via Scenic Landscapes

    After breakfast, depart for Kibale Forest National Park, passing through the tea plantations and crater lake regions of Fort Portal. Arrive in the afternoon, check in to your forest lodge, and relax in the tranquil rainforest atmosphere.


  • Day 4 – Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Wetland Walk

    After a briefing, head into the forest for your chimpanzee tracking adventure. As you trek through lush trails, listen for distant calls and spot chimps feeding, grooming, or playing. In the afternoon, take a guided walk through Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a haven for birds, monkeys, and rural community projects.


  • Day 5 – Travel to Queen Elizabeth & Afternoon Game Drive

    Drive south into Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in time for an afternoon game drive across the Kasenyi plains. Look out for Uganda kob, elephants, and lions. Settle in for dinner with views of the park’s open savannahs and Rwenzori mountain backdrops.


  • Day 6 – Tree-Climbing Lions & Transfer to Bwindi

    After an early breakfast, drive through the Ishasha Sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions, and enjoy another game drive en route. Continue south to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, arriving at your mountain lodge in time to prepare for your gorilla trek.


  • Day 7 – Gorilla Trekking & Return to Kampala/Entebbe

    Rise early for your gorilla trekking experience, the crown jewel of the tour. After a briefing, head into the forest with experienced guides to find a gorilla family and spend an awe-inspiring hour in their presence. After the trek, begin your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe, with a packed lunch and scenic stops along the way.
